Hi, I’m Brian Wright the author of  Desmond’s story and  this tribute website which highlights his life and career as one of  the best but least known fighter aces in the RAF.

I’m really passionate about his story because it has all the elements you would expect of a war time thriller: action, bravery, humour, daring and romance.

I’ve traced some of  Desmond’s wartime colleagues, travelled to Italy to meet members of the  Italian recovery team and interview eyewitnesses to the actual  crash in 1944.

So, if you have any information about/ photo’s of  Desmond himself, or any of the people who knew and flew with him, or just want to share your thoughts and comments about him and his story then please get in touch using the form to the right because I  would love to hear from you.

My sincere thanks to: all Desmond’s family, Romagna Air Finders, Jamie Ivers (601 OCA), for his permission to use some rare photos.
